Applying for an International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) Fellowship: A Step-by-Step Guide

If you’re interested in an ICO Fellowship, here’s how to apply:

  1. Create an ICO Account: If you don’t have one yet, start by setting up your ICO account.
  2. Choose a Fellowship: Once you identify your country, you’ll see which ICO Fellowships you qualify for.
  3. Check Your Eligibility: Provide the necessary information to determine if you meet the eligibility criteria for your chosen ICO Fellowship.
  4. ICO Reviews Your Eligibility: After you submit your information, the ICO will assess your eligibility. They’ll inform you of their decision and either invite you to complete the application or let you know if you’re not eligible.
  5. Apply to a Host Training Center: If you’re eligible, you can select and apply to a host institution. Keep in mind that you can only apply to one host at a time.
  6. Host Review: Your chosen host will review your application. If they accept you, you’ll need to confirm the details you’ve agreed upon. If they decline, you can choose another host.
  7. Fellowship Application Complete: Once your application is ready, you’ll receive a notification. The appropriate ICO Fellowship Committee will then review it.
